c.1930's VINTAGE LEATHER SPALDING 119 FH FOOTBALL HELMET

Description

Early leather Spalding football helmet, model 119 FH (c.1930's). Can just barely made out the model in back, along with the number "34" printed in white paint.
I asked the current owner about the provenance of this helmet and was told, "
the helmet was given to me by my grandfather through my father. I was told it belonged to an early Cleveland Bulldogs player, and it may have come by way of his friend Benny Friedman, HOF quarterback in 1920-30’s?  Not sure if it was his or a fellow player?"
As there is no official documentation to support the above provenance, the helmet is being sold
caveat emptor;
a striking piece of American football history nonetheless.
